Argamakow Langhe DOC Pinot Noir is a DOC red wine, produced in Monforte d’Alba, made of 100% Pinot Noir grapes from our own vineyards.

The vineyard covers a surface of about half a hectare (0.3), at about 520 metres above sea level, facing east. The soil is clayey calcareous (Elveziano). The vines are vertically trellised and are pruned the ‘Guyot’ way. The density is of 6000 plants per hectare, planted in 1998. The average production is of about 2000 bottles.
Vinification starts after a manual harvest in crates, with immediate stalk removal. Next, four pump overs are carried out each day for the first week, and the maceration lasts eight days. After the racking, decantering and the malolactic fermentation have occurred, the wine is then aged in different aged French barriques for sixteen months. Bottling takes place during the summer.
Argamakow Langhe DOC Pinot Noir is a wine that can be drunk when still young, or left to age for ten to fifteen years. To be served at a temperature between sixteen and eighteen degrees, it is a smooth, fragrant, pleasantly tannic wine. It is ideally paired with first courses (pasta and rice dishes), meat, cheese and cold meats, but can also be paired fish.
